Director of Children's Services Amelia Williams celebrates 30 years

This week, Amelia Williams celebrates thirty years of service to Rauch. Amelia, our Director of Children's Services, began her tenure at Rauch as a Developmental Therapist. 

Amelia was born in Carbondale, Illinois, the fifth of six children. Her father was a postal worker and her mother was a photographer and developer for the Southern Illinoisan until the chemicals in the darkroom started to cause scarring on her lungs.

First Steps Training Builds Knowledge

Opportunities for therapists to join Rauch’s network available

Tony Euler has always loved working with people with disabilities, whether at Muscatatuck State Hospital or here at Rauch, Inc.

After working at the hospital, Tony moved to the area in 1978 and started at Rauch Industries on the floor that August. He’s been Director of Industrial Services for many years, although he said it’s been so long he can’t remember exactly when he took on that role.

Goodbye for now

At the beginning of the summer, I started writing a list of the “Top Five Things I’ve Learned at Rauch.” I figured I would wait a few weeks before I finished it so I had more time. Now, my last day is today and what I’ve learned is that I can’t write a Top Five list. First of all, I can’t narrow it down. Second of all, every point I came up with essentially came down to the same thing—passion.

New coordinator looks to expand Wellness Program

Vicki Pilcher has been the Wellness Coordinator at Rauch for two months now and is already working toward helping the program grow.

Before coming to Rauch, Vicki worked as a home care nurse. She said the type of environment home care fosters is actually why she wanted to become a nurse—to connect with patients and be able to have a bond with them.

Janis said she has closed many cases since she began working here and is currently working with about eight clients. One of the most rewarding parts of her job is enabling clients to see the possibilities they have within themselves.

“It’s my job to open their minds to bigger and better things and to help them realize they are capable of doing more,” she said. “I can hear, as well as see, the underlying gifts and see potential.”

Phoebe Curry has been in the business for 33 years, first working at New Hope Services and then at Rauch Industries. As production manager, she oversees the everyday operations of daily production, clients, and production techs (PTs). Phoebe handles the job scheduling of PTs and clients, while ensuring deadlines are being met and everyone is working.
