Rauch Keeps Rolling

At the 2016 Imagine Awards, Rauch soared past its $34,136 fundraising goal to more than $46,000 in contributions. Rauch couldn't have achieved such a resounding success without auctioneer Shaun Logsdon and his team, Rauch staff volunteers, the agency's important mission, and most importantly - so many incredibly generous supporters. This year, Rauch will treat attendees to the amazing voice and vibrant personality of season three The X-Factor finalist Rion Paige. As a contestant on the television show, 13-year-old songstress Rion bounced (quite literally) into millions of homes—ultimately blowing away the judges with her cover of Carrie Underwood’s “Blown Away.” Judge Simon Cowell effused, “Rion, I think you are literally extraordinary!” He went on to compare Paige to Underwood and predicted the same stardom for Paige.

It's a Way of Life for Jill Smith, 2015 Community Leader Honoree

Jill Smith has been a tremendous advocate for individuals with disabilities for over 25 years. Her varied career path has included positions as a behavior specialist, case manager, Family Advocate, and Executive Director of a Down Syndrome chapter. Jill is currently the manager of the “My Life, My Choice” project for The Arc of Indiana. Through this project, she has personally touched the lives of hundreds of individuals with disabilities, giving them the dignity and respect of asking about their lives and listening to their stories.

Context and Contributions

I spent today at the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Kentucky statewide conference. While it was an interesting, engaging, inspiring, and enlightening day in many ways, there were aspects that made me feel a bit small. But then I realized how lucky I am.

No, we do not regularly get $1 million gifts at Rauch. Nor do we regularly receive $100,000 donations. Or $10,000 contributions. Or - let's be honest - $1,000 ones. But, you know what? We celebrate every dollar our donors invest in our agency. Truly.
